Moriah founded Phoenix Glass Recycling in 2021 after recognizing Madison County’s need for a dedicated glass recycling service. Following nearly a year of research and planning, she launched the company and has steadily grown it into a community resource with nearly 1,000 subscribers and numerous commercial partners. Under her leadership, Phoenix has already diverted more than 345 tons of glass from the landfill in its first five years, turning a local gap into a sustainable solution for residents and businesses alike.

Similar to the mythical bird called the Phoenix, which is reborn after bursting into flames, most glass can be reused and recycled an infinite number of times while never losing its quality.  It’s our goal to reduce the amount of glass going into landfills and give it a second life as a new container, building, construction, or handmade crafting material.

When glass manufacturers use recycled glass to make new containers they save raw materials, save energy, and cut CO2 emissions. For every 6 tons of recycled container glass used in the manufacturing of new bottles and jars, one ton of carbon dioxide is reduced.
