You can schedule an appointment to drop-off glass at our location in NW Huntsville (35816) by using the Drop-off Appointment Scheduling Calendar at least 48 hours ahead of time. This advanced notice is needed so we can make sure someone is on-site to place carts outside and receive your glass.
We schedule drop-off appointments Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 4:30pm.
*If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours please send us a message to make sure you have been successfully added to our calendar.
We charge a $5 per-cart processing fee from non-monthly/annual subscribers for drop-offs which pays for the processing of the glass in our warehouse. Each cart holds roughly 100 containers.
There is also the option to sign up for an On-Demand Subscription if you live within Madison County. With this subscription you pay $18 when you schedule a curbside pickup through the Customer Account Portal. On-Demand collections are added to your area’s assigned monthly collection day. This subscription is free to set up on our website under the ‘Residential’ section along and includes the option to purchase one or more of our Phoenix Glass Recycling bins.

We do a couple things with the glass we collect, including:
Selling intact containers as-is in our small container shop to people or businesses that can reuse them for cooking, canning, crafting or other projects. These containers are sold for $3 or less (often much less) and if you are interested in browsing our shelves, you can make an appointment using our Drop-off Appointment Request Form!
Crushing the glass in our warehouse to create a glass medium that can be sent for secondary processing at the Strategic Materials facility in Atlanta, GA that then sells the clarified materials to manufacturers for new bottles, aggregates in construction, and glass-inclusive materials manufacturing.
-
Buying some of our glass to suit your needs is a low-cost way to make sure glass is reused locally!
You can schedule a sales visit using our Appointment Request Form or attend one of our monthly Shop & Drop open house events, usually held on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of each month.
Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep track of when our next open house event will be!
General Questions
-
Barring severe snowstorms and/or full ice-over conditions, Phoenix Glass Recycling collections operate as normal and the pickup day instructions still apply, this includes days when schools are closed ahead of expected weather.
If your collection day lands on the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day, you will receive a Holiday Delay Notice. This email notice will let you know what day we will be completing holiday make-up collections in your area.
We will always send an email to the subscribers that may be impacted by delays and suggest following Phoenix Glass Recycling on Facebook or Instagram, as delays we may experience will be posted there as well including instructions for a make-up collection day.
-
*If you bought a Phoenix Recycling Bin during registration, your bin will be delivered during your first collection. You may use any sturdy plastic bin/container/bucket with proper drainage that can be lifted 4ft off the ground when filled with glass for that first collection, all containers will be left once emptied.*
Please have your glass in a sturdy plastic bin/container/bucket under 20 gallons that can be lifted 4ft off the ground when filled with glass at your driveway or front curb separated from any trash or blue recycling carts by 8am that morning. Please no trash/plastic/paper bags, cardboard boxes, or clear plastic totes.
If you have an overage that does not fit neatly below the brim of your bin(s), please use a second/third sturdy plastic bin to contain any overflow. A general rule of thumb is two or three containers 1/2 or 2/3 full are safer for our drivers to empty than one that is overfilled past the brim.
We generally expect residential collections to 1-2 bins per household per month. If you have more than three bins (filled below the brim) for any given collection, please send us a message via the form at the bottom of our homepage to let us know to prepare our driver for the extra volume.
Be aware that driver pickup times can vary due to traffic, weather, scheduling, and collection routes and collections may be anywhere within an 8am to 6pm window.

As a service provider, we strive to make sure that everyone is able to recycle their glass due to physical difficulty or illness and are happy to make temporary or permanent accommodations. These accommodations are in the form of a note placed on your account that lets our drivers know to collect your bin closer to your home, such as outside of your front door/garage/set back in the driveway/ground floor access of a complex or condominium.
Please note our collection drivers cannot enter any home/fenced-in area around a home to collect glass.
